Garden Borough is one of the many boroughs in Oria Providence. Throughout the first book, many of the scenes take place in Garden Borough before it is rennamed. Throughout "Matched" is named Mapletree Borough.
At the end of Matched, Officials cut down all of the maples trees in the families' yards and rename the borough "Garden Borough." Shortly after this happens, Cassia remembers a time when she was younger when her borough was called "Stony Borough." When it was called Stony Borough, they "had paths made of low flat stones that led to our doors." When this memory surfaces, she believes that something similar has happened, when everyone in the borough was forced to take the red tablet.
